    • National Visa D (Study Purpose)

    Student who arrives in Lithuania Republic of Lithuania to the continuous full-time study at an institution of higher education which is located within Lithuania. Republic of Lithuania should apply for an entry visa for multiple entries D. It can be obtained only through the Lithuanian Embassy.

  • A valid travel document - the passport (containing at least two blank pages) issued in the last 10 years. Its validity should be greater than the validity time of the visa request by at minimum 6 months).
  • Signed and completed application form, one recent passport photo, 35x45 in colour with a white background.

    Important details for students applying for a student visa

  • The supporting documents to a visa application (air ticket reservation travel insurance, financial documents, etc.) must be genuine and authentic. A visa application with a fraudulent or invalid document could result in the denial of visa.
  • Itineraries for booking tickets to the air are required to be printed onto travel agency/airlines letterheads or printed from the website. The flight itinerary should include the name of the person who is traveling including flight details and confirmation number.
  • Air ticket reservations that are cancelled are considered to be invalid. Air ticket reservations are regularly be checked, even after the issue of the visas, and if they are found to be cancelled, it could result in the cancellation of the visa when airport officials are informed.
  • Financial papers like bank account statements/ bank certificates etc. are required to be provided in their original form.
  • Students/education advisors/agents must adhere to the following guidelines the student visa application has to be made personally.
  • In the interview, applicants must justify their reasons for studying in Lithuania and be familiar with the program of study. Inability of applicants to speak English can result in refusal of visa.
  • Processing time for applications for student visas is 14 days if an additional consultation is not needed.
  • Agents and Education Consultants who submit fake documents will be removed from the list.

    • Important notes

  • All documents must be presented in the same sequence as in the list of conditions given above.
  • The reception hours are only to submit visa applications and documents. No advice on visas will be given.
  • The visa application and the supporting documents must be submitted by the applicant in person. Visa applications submitted via post or courier, fax or mail will not be evaluated as valid by consular officers.
  • Visa processing time: 14 days, if an additional consultation is not needed.
  • All documents should be presented along with copies. Copying services are not offered at the Visa Section.
  • Be sure to prepare your visa application and accompanying documents. The absence of any information can cause a visa refusal or denial or delay in processing. Incomplete or missing documentation may require you to go again at your Visa Section.
